Kevin Olivas Ordonez

Biography

Kevin Olivas Ordonez is a driven senior at CU Boulder, majoring in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences with a minor in Ethnic Studies. He has assisted CIRES in audio transcriptions, language translations, and data entry. He is also proficient in coding, focusing on MATLAB and Python. Kevin's passion lies in understanding the intricacies of our planet's climate systems while exploring the social and cultural dimensions of our diverse world. He is dedicated to promoting science communication and fostering inclusive spaces in academia and science. Kevin actively supports undocumented immigrants, Latinos, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community. As a first-generation college student, he serves as a role model and volunteers as a snowboard instructor for inner city youth.
